John Lurie - Stranger Than Paradise & The Resurrection of Albert Ayler (1985)
Eddie picked at the scab and kept picking at the scab, which is never a good idea, nor very sanitary, under the best of conditions. But this scab was larger than the average scab, oh, maybe three feet in length, and ran like a zipper across his torso from his left nipple diagonally over his belly button (an outie, of course) and over to his right thigh. With a final flick, he removed the last of the scar tissue. A moment later, the proud flesh of his ungainly and unsightly wound burst apart due to internal pressure and Eddie died an agonizing and stupid death. The end.

Thanks for this one. BTW, I've been loving your Giant Sand posts. Any chance of putting Ramp up?
I don't think I have Ramp. But I have Glum, which I haven't posted. And I'll be reposting the "lost" posts....
hey there - i just wanna say thanks a lot for sharing your blog. you have exquisite taste.
i'm 30 years old, so some of this stuff brings back vague memories (the feelies, loop, butthole surfers) while your other posts constantly peak my curiosity. there simply aren't enough people who remember the good shit from the 80s. thanks for keeping this stuff alive!!!!!

Thanks for the nice words. I'm more than 30 and have thought the music of the 80s has been grossly underappreciated, thus the focus of the blog (though I do take it up to 1997, just to give ten years of distance from the present and include some other good, unavailable stuff).
This is no exercise in nostalgia, though. I detest nostalgia. It is a dangerous and vile mental construct - we must fight it ferociously and destroy it it in all its forms!!!
Have a nice day.
